As your loved ones fight the holiday rush to buy your new iPad, the anticipation will mount for the moment you can play with your new gadget. It is important to know how to set up your iPad. Here is a helpful guide to show you how to share files between your iPad and your home computer.
First, you want to download the latest version of Apple iTunes if you don’t already have it on your computer. If you have an older version, you must upgrade to iTunes 9.1 or above. Older versions of iTunes will not be iPad compatible and in addition to not working properly, will probably have you ready to throw your iPad out the window once you begin the process.

Two, connect your computer to the iPad using the USB connector cable that comes with your iPad. You may have to wait a few minutes for your Windows computer to recognize the new hardware.
Three, open up your iTunes (I presume you have already set up your iPad with iTunes. If not check out this article I wrote on how to do so). Look to the left hand menu and find Devices. In the Devices area, select iPad.’
Next, you want to find the Apps section. Click on the tab and go to the very bottom of the page. Here you will find the apps on your iPad that support file sharing.
Next, look in the File Sharing section and you will see the compatible apps for file sharing. Click on the app you wish to share and a list of documents will pop up. Now drag and drop the app you wish to copy to the iPad on the documents list.
Another way to do this would be to find the Add button at the bottom of the iTunes window. Once you do, find the file you wish to copy and then select it. Now your file has been copied to the iPad.
That is it. It really is that easy. Remember, the iPad is limited on space and they fill up quick with apps. So be careful about what apps and files you are bringing over to your iPad. Otherwise, happy holidays and enjoy your new toy!
